When we respond to proposals, our instinct is often to look at an RFP as a series of questions to answer in isolation. We build an outline, add a firm introduction to Section 1, project portfolio to Section 2, resumes to Section 3, and so on. These proposals, while technically responsive, are boring. They’re time consuming and tedious, both to write and to read. But they don’t have to be! Looking at proposals holistically, as a story, can transform responses into vastly more interesting marketing pitches that create real connections with clients. And ultimately, those connections convince clients to hire us over the competition.
